Make assets public

This guide explains how to make a DAM asset publicly accessible. Making an asset public generates a CDN URL that anyone can open without logging in, so you can embed the asset in an external system.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, ensure you have:

  • Admin access to the Assets section of Administration. This cannot be done from the front-end portal.

  • The asset already uploaded. See Upload assets.

Make an asset public

By default, assets in the DAM require a login to access.

  1. In Administration > Assets, select the asset you want to make public.

  2. Open Keywords on the asset.

  3. Set Asset Visibility to Public.

  4. Select Save.

Saving pushes the asset to the content delivery network (CDN) and generates a public URL for it. The URL begins with cdn.assets. followed by your platform domain.

A public asset is accessible to anyone who has the URL, with no login. Make an asset public only when you intend to distribute it openly.

Use the CDN URL

The CDN URL renders the asset directly, so you can add it to an external system or web page to display the asset without DAM credentials.

Make multiple assets public

Asset Visibility is a keyword setting, so you can set several assets to Public at once, the same way you apply other keywords in bulk. See Tag and edit asset metadata.
