Supported formats and limits

This page specifies the image file types that Dynamic Asset Transformations (DAT) supports, and the limits that apply to transformations.

Supported image formats

You can transform the following image file types:

  • JPG

  • PNG

  • WebP

  • GIF

Limits

Generative Expand

Generative Expand is available only when both the width and height of the image are below 4000 pixels. It cannot expand an image to 4000 pixels or greater in either dimension; the maximum is 3999 pixels.

Background removal

Removing the background produces a transparent background only when the output format supports transparency, such as PNG or WebP.
